A little barn owl perches on the ledge of its wintery mug hollow as the sun tries to burn through a thin veil of clouds. Green pine trees surround the mug, snow falls quietly, and a little white mouse finds cover behind the mug leg. The saucer tells the story of the scurrying mouse through the snow and the owl’s wing prints left behind.

This set is inspired by winter walks, on the blissful mornings after a snow storm. What I love most is following the little critter tracks, seeing what was scurrying about and seeing the paths these little animals take. Sometimes they seem to go in circles, weaving aimless loops. Other times they dart from cover to cover. It is only on the mornings that Mother Nature feels most generous when she will bestow upon me a bird’s wing print - swooping down in a flash, leaving a ghostly outline of their feathered wings.

Stoneware mug measures 2.5” tall and 2.55” wide at mouth. Holds approximately 4 fl oz. Silver Luster accent circles the mug hollow and the falling snow. Silver dots glitter over the saucer, inspired by the way freshly fallen snow shimmers. Cup handle is on the right, looking at the owl. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 12148/9.

All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended. DO NOT microwave.
