Inspired by the documentary “My Octopus Teacher,” an octopus sits in its den, surrounded by uni and coral. A school of fish swims out of a kelp forest on the back side of the mug. Octopus den is outlined in 22k gold.
At first I was disheartened to see a small crack on one of the octopus tentacles. However, after remembering the documentary, I realized it was telling the story of the octopus. (Spoiler alert…) In a heart-wrenching scene, the octopus is attacked by a shark and loses a tentacle. After rest and time, the tentacle eventually grows back, along with the octopus’ courage and strength.
Mug holds approximately 16 oz of your favorite beverage. Measures 3.5” wide at mouth and 4.25” tall. Octopus measures approximately 1.25” from head to tentacle. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 12145.
All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended. DO NOT MICROWAVE.
